The salt rock arrived very quickly and in great shape. It was packed very well. I'm in Lexington, Kentucky and was very surprised and pleased to see that this item had the Kentucky Proud label. Very nice! Since this is a Christmas present, we will not have a chance to try it until January 2014.

Product was as promised...a big ol hunk a salt. What an amazing difference it makes in steaks and grilled veggies..though we recommend cooking veggies half the time on the block and half the time off, or else they come up a bit too salty.

You will truly appreciate the flavor of your food......as you need not add any additonal seasonings....leaving nothing to taste but the food itself! I love using my salt block....for everything!

I loved this!! Made shrimp on it the first time, easy as can be and that resturant quality that I just couldn't get cooking with anything else!! Can't wait to try some seared scallops!!!

when I first got my block I was afraid that it was going to make everything really salty but I was so wrong. I use it 100% on the gas grill, follow the directions to warm it up, and I can't believe how wonderful everything, burgers, steak, fish and pork roast, tasts. They are all juicy and tender with just a slight, and I do mean slight, taste of salt added that only enhancenses the flavor of whatever I'm cooking. I don't use any added spices to anything but the fish and they are all great. I can't wait to use it again tonight. It makes grilling even more fun. I have sent several as gifts and will continue to spread the work!

I have used my salt block several times and it works very good. It is hard for my grill to get the block over 450 degrees. I have a new grill and thought the temp would not be a problem. It takes about 45 minutes to get to 450. My only concern would be salt corrosion. I am watching closely to see if anything happens in near future. So far nice added flavor. Look forward to many years use.

My wife bought this Salt Rox block for me through Living Social. I am very happy to have received it as a gift but I doubt I would have ever paid full price plus shipping to get this for myself. We have a very well stocked kitchen and gift ideas are hard to come by, so this was perfect. I have only used it twice and was pleased with the results so far. One doesn't need to pre-salt meat or vegetables when cooking on this salt block. Since oil acts as a barrier against the salt, adding oil to the salt block surface or to your food before cooking will reduce the level of saltiness. I very briefly tried to heat the salt block over a low flame gas burner but I heard popping noises. I also assumed it would heat unevenly so I used the oven to pre-heat the salt block instead. I placed it in a cold oven and heated it 20 minutes at 350 degrees, then 20 minutes at 500 degrees. One might be able to heat it quicker but I was very hesitant and nervous about heating it too quickly and causing it to break. I am definitely treating this more gently than our cast iron and stone cookware. My block came with imperfections and "cracks" that I believe are normal but I didn't want to negatively intensify them if possible. Next time I will use our infrared thermometer to confirm surface temperature, and perhaps be able to reduce the pre-heat cook time. It takes even longer to cool down, so I left it overnight then cleaned it with a plastic scraper, a soft scouring pad, and a little water. Overall, it is a great addition to our kitchen. I look forward to many more great meals cooked on it.

Now that I am using it correctly, I use it to cook everything. I forgot to put coconut oil on it the first time I cooked and my pork chops were very salty. Since then I have cooked chicken thighs, salmon, swordfish and veggies, like corn on the cob and mini red peppers. Everything comes out great!!! I LOVE it and even posted it on Facebook with pics of my food.
Thanks so much
