I didn’t really know what was happening. I had this great tasting beverage going down smooth and it had a great salty finish to it. The only trick was – I didn’t use any salt with it. How was this possible? How could I have such a great tequila shot experience without using salt? It was only later when I was talking with a group that I discovered that the saltiness came from the glass I was drinking from.

Our company began its young life at happy hour in Lexington, Kentucky. We were adults searching for a source of passion and play. Our love for food and beverages lead us to our “aha” moment and Salt Shotz! What inspired us you ask? Sips of vodka martinis with tequila shots for good measure! With much tortuous trial and error with friends and family, we developed Salt Shotz and Salt Rox. Many tequila bottles have given their lives for the cause.
